To delete lines from a resume template in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
- Select the Line: If the line is a border, click on the line or the text above it to select it.
- Remove Border: Go to the “Home” tab, click on the “Borders” dropdown in the “Paragraph” group, and select “No Border” (source).
If the line is not selectable or is part of the template formatting:
- Reveal Formatting: Go to “File” > “Options” > “Advanced” and enable “Show text boundaries” to see if the line is part of a table or another formatting element.
- Delete Table Borders: If the line is part of a table, click inside the table, go to the “Table Design” tab, and select “Borders” > “No Border” (source).
For stubborn lines that can’t be selected:
- Check for Page or Section Breaks: Sometimes lines are associated with page or section breaks. Go to the “Home” tab, click on “Show/Hide ¶” to reveal hidden formatting marks, and delete any unnecessary breaks (source).
By following these steps, you should be able to remove unwanted lines from your resume template.
